Google Playground has joined the dark mode club [APK Download]

Google is introducing a system-wide dark mode with Android Q and is hard at work to get as many apps as possible in line for the stable launch. While it already implemented the eye-soothing theme on many apps like Calendar, Phone, Messages, and Drive, other apps are still notably lacking one, like Gmail. On Wednesday, Google officially introduced Playground as the newest member of the dark mode club, although the AR stickers app possibly has had it for a while already.

Hot topic: June smart ovens have been preheating in the middle of the night, company blames user error

You can pretty much get a smart anything these days, and while lots of connected products make sense, some can be more concerning. Google Drive will soon support file shortcuts

Cloud storage services like Google Drive have made collaborative work massively more convenient, and soon(ish), it'll get even better: Google will begin testing file shortcuts in Drive over the next few weeks.

Shortcuts should be familiar to Windows and Mac users (although they're "Aliases" in Mac parlance), and they're exactly what they sound like: links to files that can be moved or deleted independently from the items they point to. File sharing in the workplace seems like the most significant use case in Drive; files can't be owned by two shared drives, so there's currently no convenient way to provide two separate teams access to the same file.
