How good is the Spectre trailer? Watch the James Bond 007 teaser here
The time has come.

The team behind the 24th James Bond film has finally allowed the world to get its first glimpse of Spectre, the 24th James Bond film. The first trailer for the movie has just premiered via the 007.com website, along with the following summary description:
"A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind Spectre".

Sam Mendes directed Spectre, while John Logan, Neal Purvis, and Robert Wade penned the script. Daniel Craig is starring in the lead role, along with Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q. New faces include Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, and Lea Seydoux. Watch the 96-second trailer below to see the entire cast in action.

Both the film's description and new trailer, which is actually just a teaser for a full trailer that has yet to release, don't give away too many details in terms of plot or narrative, but they're still enough to whet our appetite and get us excited for the film's global release on 6 November.

Also announced on Friday, Spectre will premiere in Imax, making it the second James Bond film to be shown in the specialised theatres.

Google is making surgical robots with Johnson Johnson

Google is making surgical robots with Johnson & Johnson

It looks like your medical surgeon might one day be, or at least be assisted by, a Google robot.
Google has partnered with a lot of companies in recent years on various different projects, but it's latest partnership is a bit of surprise. Medical and pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson has just announced it is advancing surgical robotics in collaboration with Google.

Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon medical device arm is sharing intellectual property and expertise with Google's Life Sciences team in order to develop a robotic-assisted surgical platform that will benefit surgeons, patients, and health care systems. The platform will not only integrate advanced technologies with the goal of improving health care, but it will also allow surgeons to have more control and accuracy during procedures.

"Robotic-assisted surgery is a type of minimally invasive surgery that uses technology to give surgeons greater control, access and accuracy during the surgical procedure while benefitting patients by minimising trauma and scarring, enabling accelerated post-surgical healing," explained Johnson & Johnson, while highlighting that it wants to develop new robotic tools and capabilities for surgeons and operating room professionals.

The idea is that these new robotic tools will feature cutting-edge medical device technology, robotic systems, imaging and data analytics, and when these aspects are combined, they'll be able to advance surgical care around the world.
This isn't the first time Google has experimented with medical-themed projects. It has a Google Fit health data service, for instance, and it backs the Calico life science company.

HTC One E9+ boasts a 20-megapixel rear camera, 5.5-inch QuadHD display

Well, that didn’t take long. Just a couple of days after the HTC One E9+ was revealed in all its glory in a set of leaked images, the device has been made officially official.

HTC’s Chinese branch revealed the One E9+ today in a pretty quiet way: it just threw the phone up on its website. Perhaps the most notable feature of the One E9+ is its screen, which measures 5.5 inches in size and has a resolution of 2560×1440, making it the first HTC smartphone to have a QuadHD resolution. As for the rest of its spec list, here’s what HTC’s newest One has to offer:
  • 20-megapixel rear, UltraPixel front cameras
  • 64-bit, octa-core MediaTek MT6795M processor
  • 16GB of storage, microSD card slot
  • 3GB of RAM
  • Dual SIM support
  • 4G LTE
  • BoomSound front speakers
  • Android 5.0 and HTC Sense 7
  • 2800mAh battery
It’s exciting to see HTC finally release a smartphone with a 2560×1440 for all of the spec hounds out there, though I’m sure a few will take issue with the use of glossy polycarbonate on the E9+’s body. Still, the E9+ looks like a solid addition to HTC’s One lineup. There’s no word on how much the E9+ will cost at launch or when it’ll hit shelves in China or anywhere else, so stay tuned for more.

Video Recording iOS Camera App Tweak

The stock iOS Camera app doesn’t let you pause or resume video recording, which can come in handy at times. Thankfully, there’s a new jailbreak tweak called RecordPause that brings Pause and Resume feature in video recording to the stock iOS Camera app.

recordpause
With RecordPause, you can pause video recording at any time and resume at your wish. Install the tweak, respring and you’re all set. The tweak is very simple to use.

All you have to do, is tap at the timer shown during the video recording to pause or resume. When you pause, the red recording button and the timer turn yellow, when resumed, it goes back to being red.

The tweak has a few configurable options in the Settings app. You can enable/disable the tweak and you can dim the the viewfinder when paused. You can also chose to have your viewfinder freeze or show live preview when recording is paused.

Other options include the ability to toggle the yellow UI and a larger tappable area if the timer is too small for your fingers.

All in all, a very useful tweak. If you like making Vine videos, you’re going to love this tweak. The developer does mention that when recording at 60 fps, your screen might stutter when recording is resumed.

You can download RecordPause for free from the BigBoss repo. The tweak only supports iOS 8 or later. Try it out and let us know what you think of it.
