Another Report Predicts New 16-inch MacBook Pro This Fall

Another report is predicting that Apple will launch a new 16-inch MacBook Pro this fall. In a press release detailing notebook shipment estimates for Q2 2019, TrendForce predicts that Apple's new laptop will hit shelves in Q3.

According to the 3Q outlook for notebook shipments, demand for Chromebooks remains strong thanks to the back-to-school period; at the same time, we see new products hitting shelves, such as Apple's 16-inch MacBook, Dell's products with 16:10 aspect ratio, Asus's dual-screen laptop, as well as various gaming laptops in increasingly hot demand. Although the actual number of sales will have to wait until the market gives its verdict, these new releases do help push up stock levels.

The new 16-inch MacBook Pro is rumored to feature an ultra-narrow bezel, a 3072x1920 LCD display, the latest Intel Coffee Lake H mobile processors, a new scissor keyboard mechanism, and all-time high price point. Some reports claim Apple will unveil the device at its September iPhone event while others predict a separate October unveiling.

Apple Music Analytics Dashboard Now Open to All

Apple has announced that its analytics dashboard for Apple Music is now open to all artists following its beta rollout last year.

The dashboard offers access to various statistics including current number of plays, spins, song purchases, and album purchases. Users can specify a time period for reports ranging from the last 24 hours to since the launch of Apple Music in 2015. There's also an Insights panel that showcases key bullet point milestones such as all-time number of plays and purchases for specific songs.

A global maps lets musicians select any of 115 countries in which the service is available and drill down to individual cities to see which of their songs are most popular in each area. You can even examine listener demographics per city. For example, you can see how many females ages 16-24 in Los Angeles have listened to a particular song. This could help artists determine the best stops for a tour or even help plan a set list for a particular city.

Google Maps is rolling out 'Live View' AR walking navigation to more users

Back in February, Google started testing an AR navigation feature that leveraged a phone's camera to overlay directions pointing towards a user's destination. For the occasion, it has also given it a name: Live View.

The feature is rolling out as a beta service for all users with Android and iOS devices that support ARCore and ARKit starting this week.
