Apple Backtracks on Forcing WordPress App to Sell Plans

Apple is backtracking on its requirement that the open source WordPress app sell WordPress.com plans via in-app purchase. However, it's still requiring the app to remove all references to the availability of paid plans.

Here's the official statement provided to The Verge:

We believe the issue with the WordPress app has been resolved. Since the developer removed the display of their service payment options from the app, it is now a free stand-alone app and does not have to offer in-app purchases. We have informed the developer and apologize for any confusion that we have caused.
