Amazon, Apple, Google, and the Zigbee Alliance have formed a working group that plans to develop a new royalty-free connectivity standard for smart home devices. The standard will increase compatibility among smart home products with security as a fundamental design tenet.Zigbee Alliance board member companies like IKEA, Legrand, NXP Semiconductors, Resideo, Samsung SmartThings, Schneider Electric, Signify, Silicon Labs, Somfy, and Wulian are onboard to contribute to the project.
